Technowand designed, developed and delivered a high-quality web application for Refrigerant Reclaim Australia. It managed all aspects of the project, from initial requirements gathering to third party integrations and the development of support documentation.
RRA is a not-for-profit organisation that works nationally with industry to share the responsibility for, and costs of, recovering, reclaiming and destroying surplus and unwanted refrigerants. Importers of refrigerant must contribute to a Product Stewardship Scheme (PSS) and sign and submit a PSS agreement, both of which RRA oversees.
The problem was that the process for managing the scheme was manual and labour intensive. The best use of technology was not in place.
In addition, RRA only accepted payments via bank transfer and manual credit card payments. Payments often took days to arrive and were difficult to reconcile.
RRA needed a web application that would make it easier for members to complete PSS agreements, and to make financial contributions to the scheme directly via the website.
Technowand was engaged to deliver and maintain an online portal for RRA members to complete and submit PSS agreements and payments. This high-quality digital product was delivered using best practice Agile methodologies.
During the requirements gathering and analysis phase, Technowand worked closely with RRA to understand and document its processes and pain points. It identified features to prioritise based on the immediate needs of RRA members and its staff, and created a roadmap to guide solution development. The roadmap included integration with DocuSign and Xero.
Technowand adopted a collaborative, agile approach to solution design and delivery to ensure that stakeholders had ownership of the solution, and to make it easier to respond to changing business needs as the project progressed.
Technowand provided opportunities for client feedback and testing at every stage of the project, while also conducting robust manual and automated testing. This data was used to continually improve the solution.
With the solution now live, Technowand continues to update documentation, maintain the solution and provide in-depth monthly reports relating to the portal’s performance and use.
