When a customer signs up for Microsoft 365, one of the most frequent concerns they have is whether or not they can change the global theme or bar that appears at the top of the browser when they visit Microsoft 365 apps, such as SharePoint, OneDrive, etc. The answer is “yes,” and setting it up is not too difficult. In fact, I have described the steps in my post from 2017. But since then, Microsoft has added several new features, and the entire admin interface has changed. I would like to provide you with a copy of those revised instructions below.
It’s a ribbon that appears in programs like OneDrive, SharePoint, and others. You can modify a few things about it to make it more consistent with the overall branding of your business and the look and feel of the SharePoint sites.
Setting up a global Microsoft 365 Admin role is necessary since changing the global theme affects numerous applications, not only SharePoint Admins.
1.Navigate to Microsoft 365 Admin Center by clicking App Launcher > Admin
2. Under Settings, click on Org settings
3. Click on Organization profile
4. Click on Custom themes
5. Click Add theme
6. A Default Theme will be the first theme you make. This is where you may configure a few things. In order to prevent people from overriding their theme, I like to first select the box. By doing this, you can make sure that everyone sees the same ribbon that you are making.
7. Next, by selecting Logos, you have the option to upload a logo and select an on click link (your intranet homepage, for example) that will direct people to that URL from anywhere in the Office 365 ecosystem.
8. Under the Colors tab, you can define the brand colors/hex code to match your branding guidelines. Don’t forget to click the Save button at the bottom.
9. Additionally, we can create four more themes that will be shown to a select group of users. For example, if you want to create a different theme with its own icon/logo and on-click URL for Executives of the company, you can add another theme.
10. Moreover the only difference is that you can add up to 5 Microsoft 365 Security groups to determine which users will view the theme (which will override the default theme). Other than that, you can modify the theme in the same way as demonstrated earlier.
In addition to the above details ,we a have mentioned the logo indication in various platforms.
